On-prototype feedback for design teams
ProtoNote was built to make website and software feedback faster, clearer, and easier to act on by keeping comments attached to the work itself.
The outcome
Feedback lives directly on the prototype it refers to.

The Problem
Reviewers took screenshots, pasted them into messages or documents, and explained what needed to change. As revisions moved on, screenshots became outdated and comments lost their context.
Email, chat, and documents kept feedback separate from the prototype. Reviewers and builders spent extra time matching comments to the right element. The problem was missing context, not missing communication.
The Solution
We built ProtoNote so reviewers can comment directly on a shared prototype. They click the relevant location and leave feedback there, keeping the conversation attached to the work instead of a separate screenshot or document.
How It Works
01
Upload prototype
02
Share review link
03
Click anywhere
04
Leave contextual feedback
05
Resolve and iterate
Results
Reviewers spend less time explaining where a change belongs, and builders spend less time matching comments to the design. Feedback retains its context, reducing clarification loops between review and revision.
Fewer clarification loops
Less time explaining where a change belongs
Less lost context
Feedback stays connected to the design
“I can finally leave feedback exactly where I mean it instead of explaining it in a separate document.”
ProtoNote user
Key Takeaways
ProtoNote turned an informal review process into a repeatable system. It created a clearer bridge between feedback and implementation while reducing the amount of context lost between reviewer and builder.
One place for visual feedback
Clearer communication between reviewer and builder
Less dependence on screenshots and long explanations
Faster movement from review to revision
A foundation for richer prototype collaboration
