The Problem

The company produced tech packs, the detailed spec documents that drive every custom apparel order, entirely by hand. Each one took way too much time to assemble, pulled staff away from production, and still let errors slip through to manufacturers, causing costly rework.

The Solution

The core challenge was that print shop sales reps had no dedicated tool for their job. Spec documents were assembled manually, pulling garment data from supplier sites, mocking up placements in Photoshop, formatting everything in a spreadsheet, then exporting to PDF. Tech Pack Pro replaced that entire chain with a single structured builder, purpose-built for the decorator workflow from the ground up.

Implementation

Beyond the core builder, the product needed to handle real production constraints: max print sizes per method, Pantone color matching, per-view art placement with rotation, and a PDF output that works for both the client and the press operator. Every feature was scoped around what a decorator actually needs on the shop floor, not what generic project management tools approximate.

Results

  • Daily planning went from a stressor to a five-minute routine

  • Fewer dropped follow-ups and missed commitments

  • Focus time protected for revenue-generating work

  • A system shaped to one person's business, not a one-size-fits-all app

Key Takeaways

Document-heavy workflows are prime automation targets

Encoding institutional knowledge into a tool removes single points of failure

Small custom tools can change how a company operates

The biggest workflow gains often come from replacing the entire chain, not one step
